JACK HARDWICKE (BA, PGCert, PhD Cand.)
Jack Hardwicke is a Lecturer in Health Sociology at The University of Northampton. He is also a PhD candidate at the University of Winchester, where his thesis is investigating concussion in competitive cycling. He graduated with first class honours in Sociology and applies an interdisciplinary approach
to his research.
Jack works primarily in the fields of Sociology and Psychology, applied to sport, exercise and health. He is a qualified personal trainer and professional member of The Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA).
Jack’s research interests sit mainly in understanding how sporting cultures and individual differences influence concussion management behaviours in athletes. Alongside this, he is also actively investigating the intersection of injury and masculinity in athletes, LGBTQ+ experiences in sport and physical activity promotion.
